Lebron James and Elton Brand take home NBA weekly honors

New York, NY (Basketball News) - Cleveland star LeBron James and Los Angeles Clippers forward Elton Brand were named the NBA’s top players for the week ending November 20.

James garnered the Eastern Conference Player of the Week title after shooting 54.7 percent from the floor and averaging 29.7 points over three games. He also averaged nine rebounds and six assists in those contests, leading the Cavs to a perfect 3-0 record.

James posted a triple-double against the Philadelphia 76ers on November 19, compiling 36 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, and scored a season-high 37 points with 10 boards against Washington.

Brand took home the Western Conference honors after averaging a double-double, 25 points and 11.7 rebounds, over three games this past week. In Sunday’s win over Golden State, Brand tied a season high with 32 points and collected 10 rebounds. The Clippers were also 3-0 over that span.

Other nominees for Player of the Week included Miami’s Dwyane Wade, Larry Hughes of the Cavaliers, Allen Iverson of the 76ers, Orlando’s Dwight Howard, Chris Bosh of the Toronto Raptors, the Hornets’ David West, Denver’s Marcus Camby and Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks.
