(Basketball News) - The Los Angeles Lakers lost their second straight game on Monday, as they fell for the first time ever in LA to the Memphis Grizzlies, 82-72, at the Staples Center.
Caron Butler led LA with 16 points. Lamar Odom added 14 with 12 rebounds, while Chris Mihm scored 13 and All-Star Kobe Bryant had just 11 on 2-of-16 shooting.
The Lakers have lost three of their last four. They were playing the second contest of a season-high six-game homestand. Mihm tied a career-high with six blocked shots in the loss to Memphis.
Butler is averaging 16.5 points and six rebounds in his last two contests. He has scored in double-digits in 17 game this season and has recorded one double-double.
The Lakers are off until Wednesday when they host the lowly New Orleans Hornets. It will be the third meeting of the season between the two teams. The Lakers have won both contests, picking up one victory at home and one on the road.
