(Basketball News) - The battle for Los Angeles is on once again at Staples Center, as the Lakers act as the visitor against the Clippers on Wednesday.
This is the third meeting of the season between the clubs. The Lakers were victorious in the two previous contests. The teams will play once more this season, as the Lakers are scheduled to be the host on March 8th.
Overall, the Lakers have won five straight and 10 of the last 11 games in this series. The Lakers have won two straight as the visitor against the Clippers, who last defeated the Lakers on January 4, 2004.
The Lakers try to get back on the winning track tonight. On Tuesday, Vladimir Radmanovic connected on 8-of-14 three-pointers and posted 26 points while Ray Allen scored 25, as the Seattle SuperSonics cruised to a 104-93 victory over the Lakers at Staples Center.
Coming off the bench in Tuesday’s loss for the Lakers, Luke Walton scored a career-high 19 points and Lamar Odom also added 19 points. The Lakers continue to play without All-Star guard Kobe Bryant, who is out with an ankle injury. Odom added 13 rebounds and eight assists for Los Angeles, which had won two straight entering the game against Seattle.
The Lakers have won two of three on the road and are 7-9 as the visitor this season.
Odom, who is a former Clipper, has scored in double-digits in seven straight games. He is averaging 18.4 points and 9.7 rebounds in that span.
The Lakers start a four-game homestand on Friday against the New Jersey Nets. They will host the expansion Charlotte Bobcats on Sunday, and the Portland Trail Blazers and San Antonio Spurs next week.
