(Basketball News) - Kobe Bryant scored 22 points to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to an easy 120-99 win over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday at Staples Center.
Devean George netted a season-high 18 points for the Lakers, who have won four straight and seven of their last eight games. Los Angeles played without star center Shaquille O’Neal, who has missed the past two games with a strained calf.
Derek Fisher and Kareem Rush each had 14 points for Los Angeles, which had eight players in double figures. Karl Malone chipped in 13, Slava Medvedenko scored 11 and Gary Payton and Bryon Russell both had 10 points in the win.
Los Angeles is 8-0 at home this year and has won 23 straight at home dating back to last season. The Los Angeles Laker record is 24 straight home wins set between 1987-89.
The franchise record for consecutive home wins is 30 set by the Minneapolis Lakers between 1949-51..
The Lakers had eight players in double figures for the first time since February 19, 1998.
The Lakers are off until Friday when they host the San Antonio Spurs.
