Magic sign G Redick

Orlando, FL (Basketball News) - The Orlando Magic signed first-round draft pick J.J. Redick to a contract on Friday. Terms of the deal were not released per team policy.

Redick was selected 11th overall in the 2006 draft after a very successful collegiate career at Duke. In four seasons with the Blue Devils, Redick became not only the school’s, but also the Atlantic Coast Conference’s all-time leading scorer after netting 2,769 points.

In 139 college games, Redick averaged 19.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.09 steals per game. He also hit .912 percent (662-of-726) from the free throw line.

His points total was good for 16th all-time in NCAA history while his free throw percentage is second. THe 6-foot-4, 190-pound guard set a new NCAA mark for career three-pointers made with 457.
