Mavs’ Stackhouse activated off IL

03.30.2005

Boston, MA (Basketball News) - The Dallas Mavericks have activated guard/forward Jerry Stackhouse off the injured list and placed center DJ Mbenga on the IL with a strained right hamstring.

Stackhouse, 6’6-218, has missed 20 of the last 24 games with a strained right groin. He has not played since March 6 at Houston. Stackhouse is third on the team in scoring with a 15.6 points-per-game average and is also averaging 3.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 30.8 minutes per contest.

The 30-year-old Stackhouse came to Dallas from the Wizards as part of an offseason trade that landed Antawn Jamison in Washington.

The 7-foot Mbenga has appeared in 15 games with one start this season. He has 15 points, eight rebounds and five blocks in 58 total minutes of play.
