Kevin Durant Makes Denver Nuggets Pay For Not Fouling

The AM Take: It’s life or death in the Western Conference playoff race. So last night’s double overtime loss against Seattle can’t sit well with George Karl and his Denver side.

This game must be troubling for several reasons. The Nuggets, a talented team, lost to the lowly Sonics. Once again, they played no defence and conceded a ton of points.

Here’s the real issue. Up three late in the first overtime, Denver opted against fouling Luke Ridnour and giving up free throws. The shifty guard was allowed to penetrate and kick to Kevin Durant for a remarkable game tying three-pointer.

Of course, the super rookie’s clutch shot ( as shown above) propelled Seattle to a 151-147 double overtime win.

Should the Nuggets have fouled Ridnour? Two schools of thought exist: to foul or not to foul. Fouling eliminates the miracle three-pointer. Denver gets the ball back up one. Not fouling leaves the Nuggets susceptible to the type of game-tying heroics that burned them.

Sure, hindsight is a luxury. And sure, Durant hit from half-court over an outstretched Marcus Camby. But I wasn’t surprised how yesterday unfolded.

Denver’s all-or-nothing, offensive style is risky. That’s why fans enjoy the Nuggets. But yesterday could prove costly when the west’s final playoff spots are determined.

yea that is real talk to guy that didnt leave his name durant is a LOSER....he does bang his chest like hes actually good or somethin come on he cant win a f in gm.....he shoots so many shots its not even funny....all he is is a tall shooter that cant do ne thing but....he cant even drive in the nba hes to slow for that height n he goes weak....KD WILL NEVER BE A ALLSTAR.......only reason there gonna give him ROY is bc he scores so much from takin a mill shots....if kobe shot that many shots or lbj they would be having like 60 plus a nite........they should give the ROY so somebody that actually help there teams such as a HORTFORD, THADDEUS YOUNG, or SCOLA..........but my pick would be THADDEUS .

durant is quite a loser, he bangs his chest like hes a gorilla every time he dunks it, guy weighs 130 pounds soaking wet and looks like hes 4, he may score a bunch but he takes every fuckin shot down the court, i beat you all his teamates want outta there, hes nothing like lebron or kobe when they came in, he cant pass, rebound or play d and hes a freak athlete, should be able to do all of them. Yeah im a kd hater cause if greg was playin this yr kd wouldnt be in the same conversation. .

Altho? learn how to spell before you call Durant a loser. He is the truth and will be a perennial all-star in this league. you better recognize! .
