01.2.2005

Bowling Green, OH (Basketball News) - Josh Almanson posted a game-high 26 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Bowling Green Falcons rolled up a 95-88 win over the Buffalo Bulls in Mid-American Conference play from Anderson Arena.

Steven Wright and John Floyd established career highs for points with 20 and 19, respectively, while John Reimold chipped in with 15 points for the Falcons (7-2, 1-0 MAC) as they won their seventh game in the last eight outings.

The Bulls (7-3, 0-2), who had their four-game win streak snapped in the setback, were paced by Calvin Cage who tallied 23 points off the bench, while Turner Battle contributed 14 points and handed out a game-high eight assists. Roderick Middleton posted 14 points and Yassin Idbihi 11 and a game-high nine rebounds for Buffalo.

Both teams shot the ball extremely well from the floor in the first half, Bowling Green connecting on 69 percent and the Bulls 60.7 percent, which left the home team with a narrow 48-47 edge at the break.

The teams battled back and forth in the second half, but down the stretch the Falcons made the majority of their free throws, finishing the period 16-of-21, in capturing the seven-point win.

Bowling Green lost the battle of the boards, 37-24, and turned the ball over 17 times, but made up for it by forcing 23 miscues and shooting a blistering 65.4 percent from the floor on the day.

With the victory the Falcons also moved to 10-1 all-time versus Buffalo.
