Grand Rapids, MI (Basketball News) - Rasheed Wallace scored 15 points and Ben Wallace added 11 to lead Detroit over Chicago, 87-76, in the preseason opener for both clubs from Grand Rapids.

Maurice Evans had 12 points for the defending Eastern Conference Champions, who were playing their first game under new head coach Flip Saunders.

Michael Sweetney paced the Bulls with 17 points. The Georgetown product was acquired by Chicago in exchange for center Eddy Curry last week. Jannero Pargo chipped in 11 points and Tyson Chandler pulled down 14 boards in the losing effort.
