Celtics, Scalabrine agree to deal 08.2.2005

Although terms of the deal were not released, the Boston Herald reported in early July that the deal was for five years and for just under $15 million.
Scalabrine had spent his entire four-year career with the New Jersey Nets, who made the USC product a second round pick in 2001.
The 6-foot-9, 235-pounder played just 54 games last season, but posted the best numbers of his career, averaging 6.3 points and 4.5 rebounds in 21.6 minutes a contest.
Scalabrine was especially effective down the stretch for the Nets, as he started the final eight regular season games (7-1) and reached double figures in six of those contests to help New Jersey secure the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
For his career, the 27-year-old Scalabrine has averaged 3.6 points per game, while pulling down 2.9 boards. He is also just a 39.3-percent shooter for his career.
