Celtics sign Powe

Boston, MA (Basketball News) - The Boston Celtics signed forward Leon Powe, their second-round pick in this year’s draft.

Powe, who was acquired from the Denver Nuggets and was selected 49th overall, played collegiately at California. As a sophomore, he led the Pac-10 in scoring at (20.5 ppg) and rebounding (10.1 rpg), becoming just the sixth player in league history to average a double-double.
