Memphis Grizzlies Team Report - November 21 11.21.2004
|
(Basketball News) - Stromile Swift posted 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 100-87 victory over Golden State at The Arena.
Bonzi Wells added 17 points for the Grizzlies, winners in four of their last six after opening the season with four straight losses. Memphis was forced to play without its best player as Pau Gasol did not dress because of a sprained right ankle suffered Friday night against Sacramento.
Despite having just three players reach doubles figures, the Grizzlies reached 100 points to close out their four-game road swing at 2-2. A big part of that came from the Memphis reserves, which scored 43 points - led by Mike Miller’s 13.
Memphis never trailed, leading the rest of the way after Jason Williams’ trey snapped a 2-2 tie. Their biggest lead of the night came in the fourth when Shane Battier’s jumper early in the final period gave the Grizz an 84-66 advantage.
The Grizzlies return to action on Monday against the San Antonio Spurs.
