(Basketball News) - Eddie Jones shot 7-of-11 from the field, scored a game- high 24 points and dished off seven assists to lead the Miami Heat to a 94-70 win over New Orleans at New Orleans Arena.
Udonis Haslem scored 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting for the Heat, who won their second straight overall. Haslem added nine rebounds to go along with his point total. Lamar Odom added 12 points, while Caron Butler and Dwyane Wade netted 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Haslem hit a jump shot in the lane to put Miami up 69-54 with 10:28 to go in the game, but the Hornets used seven points from David West during a 13-3 run to close the gap to five.
It was all Miami after that as Odom and Jones kick-started a 20-0 burst, with back-to-back three’s, to put the game out of reach at 92-67 with 1:49 remaining. Jones scored eight points during the run.
The Heat improved to 7-20 on the road.
Miami is off until Monday when it hosts Detroit.
