Bobcats, Hawks finish home-and-home set

(Basketball News) - The Atlanta Hawks and Charlotte Bobcats play the second of a home-and-home set this evening.

On Friday, Emeka Okafor poured in a game-high 22 points and pulled down 13 rebounds as Charlotte toppled Atlanta, 96-75, at Philips Arena.

Rookie Adam Morrison contributed 19 points off the bench for the Bobcats, who have won four of their last six contests. Gerald Wallace recorded his third double-double of the season with 18 points and 15 boards, while Jeff McInnis netted 10 in the win.

Joe Johnson scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Hawks, who had a three-game winning streak halted. Josh Smith had 14 points and Josh Childress donated 12 in defeat.

The Hawks begin a four-game road trip this evening, and are 6-13 on the road this season. They will also visit Chicago, Boston and Orlando on the current swing.

Charlotte is 7-13 at home this season. The Bobcats will visit the Toronto Raptors on Monday at Air Canada Centre.

This is the third meeting of the campaign between the squads. Atlanta defeated the Bobcats, 99-90, on November 29th at Philips Arena.

Atlanta has lost three of the four meetings at Charlotte.

The Bobcats are scheduled to host the Hawks on March 28th at Charlotte Bobcats Arena in the final meeting of the campaign between the teams. Miami, though, has lost seven of eight and 11 of its last 13 at Philadelphia.
