(Basketball News) - Peja Stojakovic recorded 21 points and keyed a 10-0 run in the fourth quarter that propelled red-hot Sacramento to an 88-79 victory over Milwaukee at ARCO Arena.
Chris Webber racked up 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Brad Miller scored 16 and pulled down 12 boards for the Kings, who outscored Milwaukee 30-14 over the final seven-plus minutes en route to their fifth straight win after a 1-4 start to the season.
The Bucks went ahead 65-58 on Kieth Van Horn’s outside jumper with 7:39 remaining before Sacramento started to catch fire. After a three-pointer from Stojakovic cut the deficit to 65-63, Darius Songaila tied the game with a bucket at the 6:03 mark. Stojakovic then delivered another long-range bucket to put the Kings in front to stay with 4:39 left.
Milwaukee got back within one when Joe Smith made a pair of free throws, but Miller registered six consecutive points, including an inside hook and subsequent foul shot, for a 74-67 advantage with 2:55 on the clock.
The Bucks, who shot just 35.6 percent from the floor, missed 10 consecutive attempts after Van Horn’s basket.
Sacramento will return to action on Tuesday when they face the Los Angeles Lakers.
