Salmons, a four-year veteran who has played his entire career in Philadelphia, was reportedly set to go to Toronto in a sign-and-trade deal, but that arrangement was called off last Friday.
"We’re excited to add a versatile player like John to our team," Kings president of basketball operations Geoff Petrie said. "He can play three positions. We feel he’s still an emerging player in the NBA. He’ll add to the youth and overall skill level of our backcourt, and I’m really looking forward to watching him play for the Kings."
Salmons averaged a career-best 7.5 points last season and started in 24 of the 82 games in which he appeared. He also had 2.7 assists and 2.7 rebounds.
