Saunders misses game with flu

 
Minneapolis, MN (Basketball News) - Minnesota Timberwolves’ head coach Flip Saunders will miss Wednesday’s contest against the Atlanta Hawks at the Target Center because of the flu.

Saunders, who is in his 10th season with the team, had never missed a game prior to tonight. Assistant Randy Whitman, a former head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, will man the sidelines in Saunders’ absence.

Minnesota has won three in a row and is 22-19 on the season.
