Sixers burn Heat in OT

Andre Miller and Willie Green also had 16 points apiece for the Sixers, who snapped a three-game skid and won for just the second time in their past nine contests. Samuel Dalembert added 15 points before fouling out, while Kyle Korver chipped in with 13.

"This win was important," said Green. "After coming back from the Memphis game and the Toronto game, really getting beat kind of bad, we wanted to go out there and play for pride and step it up another notch."

Dwyane Wade came up an assist short of a triple-double with 28 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists for the Heat, who lost for the second time in three games. Antoine Walker tallied 19 points and 12 boards off the bench and Udonis Haslem finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

"We came out flat early, defensively we were bad, but we played solid the rest of the way," said Wade. "We are going to continue to keep that positive mindset. We know why we lost and we need to move on."

Wade gave the Heat the lead nearly two minutes into overtime when he stuck a step-back jumper right in the face of Iguodala.

Miller finally got the Sixers on the board in the extra frame by hitting 1-of-2 from the charity stripe before Iguodala gave Philadelphia the lead, 92-91, for good with a steal and an emphatic slam with 1:56 left.

A pair of Green free throws, with 37 ticks remaining, then put the Sixers up three 94-91.

Less than 10 seconds later, Wade missed a mid-range jumper off the glass and Philadelphia made enough free throws in the waning seconds to secure the win.

Down by 17, Miami finally woke up and got hot from beyond-the-arc late in the third quarter to get back in the game. Walker drained three consecutive threes and Wade added one of his own as the Heat drew within four, 67-63, by the end of the quarter.

Miami then quickly deadlocked things at 69 early in the fourth when Wade buried a jumper with 9:59 left.

The three-ball continued to haunt the Sixers as the game headed toward the stretch. The soft Philadelphia defense left Walker all alone at the top of the circle and the veteran deposited the triple to put Miami up 80-75 with 4:56 remaining.

The Sixers hung in, however. A mini-spurt featuring a Dalembert three-point play and a pair of free throws by Iguodala evened things at 85 with a minute left.

After a Wade turnover, the Sixers went on top when Miller drained a mid-range jumper from the left wing with 27.9 ticks left.

Playing on the road, Miami went for the win. Walker launched a three that came up empty and the Heat quickly fouled Green, who made both of his free throws to make it an 89-85 game with 13.8 ticks left.

Miami wasn’t done however, Wade drove down the lane quickly and deposited a layup. Then, on the ensuing Sixers possession, Korver lost an inbound pass out of bounds, giving the Heat a chance to win it.

Wade went for the win again and attempted a three with 2.1 seconds left. He missed badly but Miller was whistled for the foul. Wade missed his first attempt but calmly sank the remaining two free throws to send the game to overtime.

Miami dominated the boards with a 55-36 edge and had a ridiculous 23-3 advantage on the offensive boards...Philadelphia is 6-9 at home this season...Miller finished with nine assists.
