Orlando Magic Team Report - November 7 11.7.2004

(Basketball News) - The Orlando Magic lost their first game of the season on Saturday, as they fell to the expansion Charlotte Bobcats 111-100 at Charlotte Coliseum.
Cuttino Mobley led all players with 23 points for the Magic, who were denied their first 3-0 start since the 1993-94 season. Grant Hill and Hedo Turkoglu each netted 16 points for Orlando, which shot 4-of-16 from beyond the arc.
Orlando got back in the contest midway through the fourth. A 12-4 run over a 4:10 span ended on Dwight Howard’s slam, trimming the deficit to 92-83 with 6:06 remaining in the contest.
However, that was as close as the Magic would get the rest of the way. A dunk by Gerald Wallace pushed the lead back to 12 points at 104-92 with 1:27 left to seal the contest.
Steve Francis finished with just nine points on 4-of-12 shooting for the Magic. Francis has averaged 18 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists during the first three games of the season.
The Magic are off until Tuesday when they host the Dallas Mavericks, who swept the two meetings last season between the squads.
