Indiana defeated the struggling Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday by a 101-93 score at the Wachovia Center. Jermaine O’Neal netted 34 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to send Philly to its 12th straight loss.
Stephen Jackson added 25 points for the Pacers, who have won three of their past four games. Danny Granger chipped in 15 points for Indiana, which will close out a brief two-game road trip in Atlanta and is 6-10 away from Conseco Fieldhouse this season.
The Hawks, meanwhile, have dropped two in a row and six of their last seven games, including Wednesday’s 112-106 loss to the Utah Jazz.
Joe Johnson netted 27 points for the Hawks, who are 0-2 on a three-game homestand and 4-7 at Philips Arena this season. Josh Smith posted 23 points and 12 rebounds, while Shelden Williams scored 14 points and Speedy Claxton added 12 and eight assists.
Atlanta went 4-0 in the 2005-06 season series with Indiana, which has won nine of its last 15 matchups against the Hawks.
The Pacers have won 12 of the last 19 meetings in the series, but have lost their last two trips to Atlanta.
