(Basketball News) - Kenny Thomas collected 27 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists, as the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 107-98, on Monday at the Wachovia Center.
John Salmons contributed a career-high 21 points and hit five three-pointers for Philadelphia, which snapped a four-game losing streak. Willie Green netted 19 points and Aaron McKie added 16 for the 76ers, who shot 54.5 percent from the field and converted 11-of-18 attempts from beyond the arc.
Philadelphia again played without All-Star guard Allen Iverson, who is bothered by inflammation in his right knee. Iverson, the team’s leading scorer, has now missed a career-high 23 contests this season and the 76ers are 10-13 without him.
Prior to the game, Philadelphia placed forward Derrick Coleman on the injured list with left knee tendinitis and activated forward Amal McCaskill from the Injured List.
The Sixers are off until Wednesday when they host the Phoenix Suns. Earlier this season, Philadelphia lost to the Suns, 100-92, on December 28, 2003 at America West Arena.
Thomas has averaged 25 points and 12.5 rebounds in his last two games. He has posted a double-double in 13 of his last 15 games.
