Phoenix, which has won the Pacific Division the last two seasons, is two games ahead of the second place Los Angeles Lakers.
The Suns play the middle contest of a three-game road trip when they visit the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday at the United Center. It is the first of two meetings between the clubs this season. The Suns are scheduled to host Chicago on February 11th at US Airways Center.
Phoenix has won two straight after losing its last three at Chicago. The Suns have won four in a row in the series.
The Suns enter Tuesday’s contest on a two-game winning streak. Reigning MVP Steve Nash posted 35 points and 12 assists as Phoenix downed the Detroit Pistons, 108-101, at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Amare Stoudemire finished with 31 points and 13 rebounds in the win over Detroit for the Suns, who have won 18 of their last 20 games overall. Raja Bell and Shawn Marion both ended with 15 points apiece.
Phoenix is 9-5 on the road this season. The Suns have won nine of their last 10 as the visitor.
The Suns will visit the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday at Air Canada Centre. It will be the second and final meeting of the season between the squads. On December 19th, Stoudemire scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Nash handed out 15 assists to lead Phoenix Suns to a 115-98 win over the Raptors at US Airways Center.
Nash leads the Suns in scoring (20.6 ppg) and assists (11.3 apg), while Marion has pulled down a team-best 8.9 rebounds per game.
