Slumping Celtics face Seattle in Emerald City

(Basketball News) - The Boston Celtics will attempt to stop a five-game losing streak tonight when they continue their road trip against the Seattle SuperSonics at Key Arena.

Boston is 0-3 so far on the trip and dropped a 110-100 decision to the Golden State Warriors on Friday at ORACLE Arena. Tony Allen netted 20 points and grabbed seven boards for the slumping Celtics.

Al Jefferson and Delonte West each had 18 points in the loss for Boston, which will also visit Portland and is 6-8 as the visitor this season. The Celtics are 1 1/2 games off the lead in the Atlantic Division.

The Sonics, meanwhile, have lost two in a row and eight of their last 10 games. On Friday Seattle sustained a 101-82 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center.

Ray Allen returned to the team after the birth of his third child and scored 14 points in the loss. Johan Petro netted 12 points and Earl Watson added nine for Seattle, which is 8-7 at home this season.

Seattle went 2-0 against Boston last season, but Boston has won five of eight and 10 of the last 15 meetings.

Boston has lost nine of its last 13 trips to the Emerald City.
