All-Star forward Shawn Marion scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Suns to their 12th straight win, 99-89, over the Miami Heat on Wednesday at AmericanAirlines Arena..
Reigning MVP Steve Nash scored 18 points and dished out 11 assists in the win over Miami for the Suns, while Boris Diaw scored 13 and pulled down 11 rebounds. Amare Stoudemire ended with 12 points in the victory.
The Suns have won 14 of their last 15 games after a 1-5 start. Phoenix finished its road trip with a perfect 5-0 record, marking the first time it had done that since April 6-13, 1998.
Phoenix is 8-2 at home this season. It will visit Ron Artest and the Sacramento Kings on Saturday at ARCO Arena.
Golden State begins a six-game road trip this evening. On Thursday, Baron Davis hit the winning three-pointer with 1.2 seconds remaining as the Warriors rallied from a four-point deficit in the final minute for a 109-107 victory over the Houston Rockets at ORACLE Arena.
Davis ended with 34 points and eight assists in the win over Houston for the Warriors, who have won two in a row. Monta Ellis had 17 points and Andris Biedrins netted 15 for Golden State, which snapped a three-game series skid and beat Houston in Oakland for just the fourth time in the last 22 meetings.
The Warriors are just 1-6 on the road this season. They will also visit Toronto, New Jersey, Boston, Orlando and Miami on the current swing.
This is the second meeting of the season between the squads. On November 20th, Nash hit a three-pointer with 4.1 seconds left as the Suns held on to win a 113-110 thriller over Golden State at ORACLE Arena.
Golden State has lost two straight and four of its last five at Phoenix. The Suns have won four of the last five contests in this series.
