New Jersey Nets Team Report - January 30

(Basketball News) - Jason Kidd collected 33 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists, as the New Jersey Nets defeated the Orlando Magic, 89-79, on Thursday at TD WaterHouse Centre.

Kenyon Martin contributed 18 points, nine boards, four assists and four steals for New Jersey, which improved to 2-0 under new coach Lawrence Frank.

Richard Jefferson netted 13 points and Lucious Harris scored all 12 of his points in the fourth quarter for the Nets, who have won three in a row after a five-game skid.

Kidd is averaging 16.3 points and 9.3 assists in the last four games, while Martin has averaged 16.8 points and 8.8 rebounds in that same span.

The Nets are off until Saturday when they visit Yao Ming and the Houston Rockets. Earlier this season, the Rockets defeated New Jersey, 86-75, on November 4, 2003 at Continental Airlines Arena.
