Yao breaks bone in foot

04.10.2006

Salt Lake City, UT (Basketball News) - Houston Rockets center Yao Ming broke a bone in his left foot during Monday’s game at Utah, and he will miss the team’s last four games of the season.

Yao suffered the injury in the first quarter. After scoring a basket, he came down on another player’s foot.

The Rockets, who have already been eliminated from playoff contention, are still without All-Star Tracy McGrady. He has a back injury.

The 7-foot-6 Yao came into Monday’s game averaging 22.6 points and 10.3 rebounds. Including Monday, he’s played in 57 games this season. Yao underwent surgery in mid-December for a toe infection.
