Pacers hold off Celtics, despite shoddy free-throw shooting

Indianapolis, IN (Basketball News) - Jamaal Tinsley scored 28 points, and the Pacers overcame 17 missed free throws to hold on for a 103-96 victory over Boston, extending the Celtics’ losing streak to 12 games.

Tinsley also had six rebounds, seven assists and three steals, and was a bright spot at the line for Indiana, going 10-of-11, as the Pacers won for the fourth time in five games.

Jermaine O’Neal tallied 25 points and eight boards for Indiana, which won at home over Boston for the 16th time in the last 20 meetings. Danny Granger totaled 13 points for the Pacers.

Al Jefferson scored 15 points to go along with 17 rebounds for the Celtics, who haven’t won since topping Memphis on the road, 128-119, on January 5.

Boston is only one setback away from tying the franchise record of 13 straight losses in a season, established from February 5 - March 1 of the 1996-97 campaign.
