(Basketball News) - Amare Stoudemire poured in 33 points and pulled down six rebounds to power the Phoenix Suns past the Toronto Raptors, 106-94, on Sunday at America West Arena.
Shawn Marion, Steve Nash and Quentin Richardson each netted 18 points for the Suns (24-3), who continue to improve on their best start in franchise history. Phoenix has won 11 in a row and 20 of its last 21 contests.
Marion also grabbed 18 boards, while Nash handed out 13 assists.
Nash became the first player in NBA history to record 11 straight games with 10-or-more assists and have his team win each of those contests. The old record was 10 by Magic Johnson.
The 24-3 record by the Suns marks the best start in the league since the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls began the campaign 41-3.
Stoudemire has scored 30 or more points in three straight games. He has registered nine double-doubles this season and has scored 30 or more points nine times.
The Suns are off until Tuesday when they visit Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs. Last season, San Antonio swept the four meetings with the Suns.
