(Basketball News) - The Phoenix Suns fell to the Memphis Grizzlies, 97-92, on Friday at The Pyramid.
Amare Stoudemire scored a game-high 23 points to go along with seven rebounds and Shawn Marion added 21 points, 11 rebounds and five steals for Phoenix. Jahidi White chipped in 10 points and a game-high 13 rebounds for the Suns, who lost their seventh straight.
The Suns activated Antonio McDyess from the injured list prior to the game, but he did not score and grabbed four rebounds in 10 minutes. Elsewhere on the injury front, the Grizzlies placed guard Mike Miller on the injured list Friday with back spasms, and activated rookie guard Troy Bell.
Just before Thursday’s trade deadline, the Suns acquired centers Keon Clark and Ben Handlogten from Utah for forward Tom Gugliotta, two conditional first- round draft picks, a 2005 second-round draft pick and an undisclosed sum of cash. Handlogten was waived Friday, and Clark, who has an injured ankle, had not yet joined the team
The Suns are off until Sunday when they host Shaquille O’Neal and the Los Angeles Lakers.
