(Basketball News) - The Portland Trail Blazers were handed a 92-83 setback by the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night at American Airlines Arena.
Dirk Nowitzki scored 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Mavericks. It was the seventh time that the Trail Blazers fell to Dallas in the last 10 matchups.
Derek Anderson netted 23 points and Zach Randolph contributed 16 points and nine boards for the Trail Blazers, who saw their brief two-game winning streak come to an end. The loss also dropped Portland below .500 on the road (3-4) this season.
Shareef Abdur-Rahim and Theo Ratliff each scored 12 in the loss.
The Blazers will return home on Sunday night to battle the New Jersey Nets at the Rose Garden. Portland won both matchups with New Jersey last season, but, this year, the Nets earned a 64-60 victory over Portland on November 9 at the Meadowlands.
