Tracy McGrady Won’t Take the Blame By Christopher Sells

Well, this is what we’re down to. Game Three, down 0-2, on the road for the next two games against the best home team in the league. No pressure right? Well, win or lose, we’ve been informed that it won’t be Tracy McGrady’s fault by none other than Mac himself.
"It’s my fault," McGrady said. "It’s my fault we missed free throws. It’s my fault we lost both games. Blame me. It’s my fault we fouled to tie the game up. That’s my fault. It’s my fault they get easy layups. It’s my fault we’re not executing well on the offensive end. It’s my fault a couple people in the stands ordered Heinekens and they got Budweiser. It’s my fault. I’m
sorry."
"Everybody’s blaming me. The Suns (for being down 2-0 to the Spurs). I mean, everybody. That’s what it seems like. It’s my fault. I’m out there by myself."
"That’s another one of my faults: that Rafer got hurt and Yao got hurt," McGrady said. "It’s my fault. I’m sorry."
We understand you’re not the only player out there, Mac. As a matter of fact, I think most of us are aware of the rule that requires teams to have five players on the floor. Thanks for pointing that out though.
He was joking and making a point, but he inadvertently threw his teammates under the bus as he was doing it. Fact is that if the Rockets win or lose, McGrady has to be the guy who steps up and owns it. He had the right idea last year, the team just fell short. And now he’s gone from getting choked up on the podium to acting like he doesn’t give a damn. Wrong approach, dude.
Meanwhile, there’s a game to be played. Getting Skip back would be huge. We could get the ball out of McGrady’s hands for a bit, which would make his life easier and would give us a better chance at winning a game on the road. Let Mac coast for a few minutes so those fourth quarter jumpers don’t catch front rim. Let someone else initiate the offense. Let the attention be
somewhere else. Because apparently the outcome of Game Three will not be Tracy McGrady’s fault.
