No Denying Jay-Z ‘Diss’ & Flagrant Foul: LeBron James & DeShawn Stevenson Are Rivals

My Quick Take: Denial is the first sign. So I had trouble with Cleveland superstar Lebron James insisting Friday there was no rivalry with Washington’s DeShawn Stevenson.

Perhaps, O.J. is still searching for the real killers. Perhaps, there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. And perhaps, Clay Bennett intended on keeping the Sonics in Seattle.

Fat chance. The Juice is guilty. I don’t trust neo-cons. And Bennett has always been screaming “Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma” like Steve Martin in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

If there wasn’t a James-Stevenson rivalry, there is now. Yesterday, Washington Post Insider Michael Carter and Ivan Lee reported that Jay-Z, a James backer, wrote a ‘diss’ record about the Wizards’ two-guard and had it played it in a Washington nightspot.

So ‘99 problems’ is involved. Forget Jim Jones. And forget that Jay-Z is a minority owner of the Nets. ‘Jigga Man’ wants Stevenson.  

And today, Stevenson clipped James with a hard foul that was deemed a flagrant. And The King didn’t back down. Of course, James also hit guard Delonte West with a perfect dime to set-up a game winning three-pointer.

Expect more trash-talk before game five. This rivarly is just starting.
