Kevin Martin leads the Kings in scoring (20.9 ppg), while Kenny Thomas has grabbed a team-best 6.7 rebounds per game and Mike Bibby has dished out a club-high 5.4 assists per contest.
Two teams attempt to extend their winning streaks to three games meet tonight, as the Kings welcome the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets to ARCO Arena. It is the second meeting of the campaign between the clubs. On January 26th, Desmond Mason had 24 points and eight rebounds as the Hornets knocked off the Kings, 88-84, at New Orleans Arena.
The Hornets have lost 10 straight at Sacramento. The last time the Hornets defeated the Kings on the road was on January 12, 1997.
Sacramento plays the middle contest of a three-game homestand. Martin scored 28 points, as the Kings made it two wins in a row with a 94-87 win over the Denver Nuggets on Saturday at ARCO Arena. Denver has lost 20 straight at Sacramento. The last time the Nuggets won in Sacramento was on January 7, 1997.
Ron Artest posted 21 points and 11 rebounds in the win over Denver for the Kings, who have won two in a row after a three-game losing streak. Brad Miller scored 12 points, and Bibby and Corliss Williamson both netted 10 in the victory.
The Kings, who have won three in a row at ARCO Arena, are 13-11 at home this season. They will host the Chicago Bulls on Thursday. Sacramento defeated the Bulls, 89-88, on November 3rd at the United Center. Chicago has lost seven straight after winning its last three at Sacramento.
Martin has scored over 20 points in five straight games and is averaging 24.0 points and 5.2 rebounds in that span.
