A Look At Chase Budinger

A Look At Chase Budinger

Chase Budinger is 6’7, 190 pounds and will be a sophomore at Arizona. He is a very competitive player, and likes to be the go to guy for his team.

He has a nice quick release on his jump shot, and he is a good three point shooter. He has good athleticism and an explosive first step. He likes taking the ball to the basket in traffic to either throw down a dunk on someone, or draw contact with his good body control. Chase is a good player around the basket, he finishes well, he’s good at tipping the ball in by the basket, and he is a pretty good offensive rebounder. He has good court vision, and looks to get his teammates involved. Chase has good hands and leaping abilities. He is a good quick decision maker, that plays well in transition. He is a hard worker with a high basketball IQ, and is versatile on offense and defense.

Chase needs to add some strength to his body. He needs to work on his mid-range game. Sometimes Chase tries to do to much with dribbling and it gets him into trouble, he needs to learn to control himself. Although sometimes he can be a pesky defender, he still needs to work on his defensive skills and his lateral quickness. He could work on his defensive rebounding as well. He has improved his shot off the dribble, and has learned how to play in half court sets, to supplement his good transition game. Two things I’ll be watching for this season is to see if he has learned how to create shots for himself, and has he learned to play without the ball.

Overall I really enjoy watching Chase play basketball, he is still getting a feel for the game at this point, but his upside looks real good. I see similarities between him and Brent Barry.

Chase is a fun player to watch, I like the way he plays basketball. He is also a very low key prospect that doesn’t get talked about as much and he would be a steal for any team .

Chase will be an awesome player if he reaches his potential. Although he is highly regarded as a top prospect in the nation, I still think he’s underrated. He is gonna sneak up on stardom and be on of the silent bright superstars in the NBA in the future. Like a Michael Redd, Elton Brand, Chris Bosh, and a few other star players that tend to be overlooked for what they do for their teams and how special and talented they truly are. I’m looking forward to watching him grow as a player and do some great things in college and the pros .

I only got to see him play 3 times last year, and I like what I saw from him. He is a player willing to the necessary things for his team to win. Unlike Marcus Williams who I’m gald left early he was gonna become useless anyway. I’m not surprised Marcus struggled in summer league and I definetly won’t be surprised if he doesn’t make it in the NBA. Chase keep playing with that great positive atttitude, you have the skills to become a future star NBA player! .

I also seen similarites between him and Brent Barry, ecspecially the way they throw down dunks. Hopefully Chases pro career will be a little better than Brents, I don’t think he played to his potential, but injuries played a part in that. Honestly I would like to see Chase stay in college longer than 2 years .
