The first thing that stands out to me with Bill Walker is his hangtime in the air and throwing down some sick twisted dunks. Many believe he could give Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins, and Vince Carter a run for their money if he was in a dunk contest with them.
His explosiveness, leaping abilities, and leg strength is truly amazing. His body strength overall is very good as well, and he likes to use it to his advantage. He has become a good consistent shooter on the perimeter and from the three point line. He can change the game tempo instantly. He is an excellent finisher after contact. He is rapidly improving on many areas of his game and his upside is skys the limit. Bill has good instincts, he can create offense off the dribble and is fearless. He loves challenges and playing against top level competition, and is a hard worker.
Right now he still seems to use his athletic abilities to get results on the floor, rather than his fundamental skills. He needs to develop some maturity and composure, he can lose his cool sometimes. At times he can lose focus on being aggressive and passionate and he’ll start to slack off. His first step is not very quick. Some observers still aren’t sure what NBA spot would be best for him SG or SF. He must stay positive off the court, to stay on the court, but I believe that won’t be a problem. He had some knee issues in the past, but it looks fine at this point.
Bill is 6’6, 220 pounds and will be a sophomore at Kansas State, playing with freshman Michael Beasley should help out big time. I think in the NBA Bill Walker could be similar to Andre Iguodala.
