Bobcats and 76ers Possible Selections

In this article I will discuss what two non-playoff teams with multiple first round picks may do in the draft, as they try to build their franchises.

This year the Charlotte Bobcats have two first round selections their own and one from Toronto. Charlotte is a team that can improve their team big time this off-season, they have a lot of cap space and have two nice spots in the draft. They have 4 free agents Jeff McInnis, Matt Carroll, Derek Anderson and Alan Anderson, and may only resign Matt Carroll. With their 1st selection the Bobcats may select a big man or a versatile player that plays good defense like Al Horford, Roy Hibbert or Julian Wright. With their 2nd first round selection I think they’ll go with a good combo guard or the best player available like Rudy Fernandez, Marcus Williams, or Aaron Gray. Overall the Bobcats don’t need to rely too much on the draft to complete their roster, management has vowed to be a big player in free agency this year possibly picking up Vince Carter or another high profile player.

This year the Philadelphia 76ers are tied with the Phoenix Suns having the most picks in the draft, having their own 1st round pick along with 2 other first rounders from Denver and Dallas. They also have a second pick from New York. The 76ers basically have 2 free agents Joe Smith and Louis Amundson, they have expressed interest in resigning both. The 76ers don’t really have much money to spend, they’re still paying off players who aren’t even on the roster anymore. So They will rebuild their team through the draft, with their 1st selection I think they would go with the best available like Tiago Splitter, Al Thornton, Acie Law, or Jeff Green. With their second selection I think they would go with a big forward like Thaddeus Young or Josh McRoberts. With their final first round selection they could with a good combo player like Dominic McGuire, Jared Dudley or Alando Tucker. I think with 2nd round pick they’ll go with a big man like Ante Tomic, Sean Williams or Herbert Hill. Overall the 76ers will just try and fill as many pieces as possible through the draft and try to continue the youth movement and life without A.I.

I am a die hard Sixers Fan and i truely am wishing that they selet Alando Tucker in this years darft. As soon as i heard of him and i looked him up,i fell in love with his talent and overall game. I believe he is underrated and think he should be a higher pick. So, i think he’s this years sleeper pick.I also think he can become a starter here right away , depending on who they pick at 12th. MESSAGE TO BILLY KING: DARFT ALANDO TUCKER PLEASE!!!! .

Thats not a bad move Greenslader, I like it! I don’t know if MJ would go for it, but if I was him I’d consider it alteast. .

I think the Bobcats may have a good fit for a trade with Denver. The Nuggets need to drop $10m to avoid the lux tax, and might deal Marcus Camby for draft choices. Bobcats get veteran leadership, defense and rebounding plus a center who allows Emeka to play mostly at PF. Could work for both. Waddya think? .

Bobcats should bring back Jason Kapono, and sign Andrers Nocioni. Draft Roy Hibbert with the first pick, him and Emeka would be defensive beast down low, and with the second pick select Rodney Stuckey he’d be the best complete player available around then. That would improve their team big time and still keep them young with the additons of veterans who have been in the playoffs and had success. .

MJ is serious about turning the Bobcats into his old Bulls. He gonna do better than this time than when he drafted Kwame Brown. I think two good selections for them would be Al Horford and either Rodney Stuckey or Rudy Fernandez. He should sign Grant Hill as a good versatile veteran to a 2 year deal and help make the bobcats better. .

It will be interesting to see what the bobcats do this offseason in the draft and free agency, they may be the most improved next year if they play their cards right. .

Man no matter what these teams do they’ll still suck. They can’t even compete in the East and they’re both in weak divisions. They need to go out and get some key free agents forget the draft, use them picks and get some VETS that can play NOW! .

If the 76ers selected Al Thornton and Josh McRoberts, you got two solid players that could contribute some now and be key pieces to help turnaround the franchise in the future with Korver, the new A.I. Sam D, and Willie Green. We’d be a decent team in the East. .

Bobcats can’t even compete in the East, they better hope they can sneak in the top 2 picks of the draft so they can get Oden or Durant and atleast beable to draw a crowd. Or tell MJ to show his face more. If not whoever they select won’t make a difference, atleast try hard to get Vince Carter or Larry Brown. .

Bobcats betta get a superstar, cuz what they got now ain’t cuttin it. If we got Horford and M. Williams in the draft, I would be happy. Plus if we get the right coach, next year will be our first playoff season, we could be next years Raptors! .

I would it if Philly picked Spencer Hawes, he is underrated and he could be a key player within the next two years. .
