He has a good basketball IQ and understands the fundamentals of the game. He has good ball handling and passing skills, so he can run the offense to give his team a different look. He does well creating his own shot, he likes to drive to the basket on either side to go for the dunk, and he is capable of drawing a lot of fouls when he does. He has excellent three point shooting skills and range out to 25 feet. He does an ok job playing in the post, he is capable of getting some blocked shots, and is a pretty good rebounder. He has a quick first step, good length, and fast hands, he likes to use these tools as assets to help him on offense and defense.
Danilo needs to work on making better shot selections, he can get carried away with shooting too many three pointers, and should mix up his shot selections more often. He needs to improve on his decision making skills, at times he’ll force things or just makes very bad choices when the tempo is going real fast. He can struggle defensively guarding quicker and more athletic players. He needs to add more bulk to his body. He can be a very inconsistent player in many areas of his game.
Overall Danilo is a pretty good player and just needs to keep working on his all-around game to become a consistent complete player. He’ll only be 18 years old in August so he still has plenty of time to develop and improve. His upside looks real good. As a best case scenario he could be like Peja Stojakovic, as a worst case Toni Kukoc, but you really can’t go wrong either way.
