Darrell Arthur is 6’9, 230 pounds, and will be a sophomore at Kansas. He is very athletic, he has great leaping abilities and good timing that allows him to block shots easily.
He can thrown down some explosive dunks and it’s exciting watching him do it. He has good forward and lateral quickness, and he runs the floor well. He has a good mid-range shot, and his shooting skills are starting to develop into deeper range. He is also developing into a good post player, using a few solid moves in the block. When he plays to his potential and he takes more of a role in the offense, instead of being a fourth option, Darrell is capable of being a double-double player. Darrell has also shown he can step up and play against some of the best big men in college. He is good at finishing at the basket and drawing a foul after contact.
Darrell needs to improve his ball handling, and he could still put on some weight to get more strength. His free throw shooting needs to improve big time, with his ability to get to the line, he needs to take advantage of that opportunity. Darrell needs to cut back on his fouls, it is becoming a bad habit for him, and many of them could have been avoided. Hopefully he can improve his basketball IQ.
Overall Darrell has upside to his game, and he seems to be a legit prospect, if he continues to play to his potential he could be a lottery pick when ever he decides to enter the draft. He reminds me of Stromile Swift.
