Hot NBA Draft News Updates

Here are some new NBA draft news headlines, that are really being talked about right now, the draft is 10 days away, so things are really buzzing at this point.

According to sources the Atlanta Hawks are high on selecting Yi Jianlian or Al Horford with the third pick in the draft.

The Celtics who have the number five pick could either trade down or take Yi Jianlian or Jeff Green.

Kevin McHale has Spencer Hawes on his radar with the 7th pick.

As of right now it looks like the Bobcats have Joakim Noah on their radar with the 8th pick.

Jason Smith continues to be on the rise, and some have speculated that if all the players the Bulls have on the top of their board. They’ll trade down to get Smith.

According to Herb Rudoy the U.S. based agent for Tiago Splitter and Marc Gasol, he said don’t count on either one coming over to the U.S. for workouts. It is also unlikely either will play in the NBA this season. Splitter has $1 million dollar buyout next year, and Gasol wants to see what team selects him first, because he doesn’t want to sit on the bench which is a good possibility starting out.

Dominic James withdrew his name from the NBA draft and will play his junior year at Marquette.

JamesOn Curry will stay in the NBA draft and not return to Oklahoma State for his Senior season. Some have said Curry is under the impression he’ll be selected at #49 by the Bulls. Bulls personnel have said that is false.

Marcelus Kemp will withdraw his name from the NBA draft, and will be entering his 6th year in college.

Sun Yue is getting a lot of attention from scouts during workouts. He has also been missing preparations for the Beijing Olympics. Chinas national team coach has said Sun needs to improve his all-around game, because he is not strong enough to play in NBA games.

Pettri Koponen has had outstanding workouts on each one he has attended so far, and is catching some interest from quite a few teams.

The Denver Nuggets don’t have any draft picks in this years draft. But VP of player personnel Rex Chapman said "we’re open for business and there’s plenty of conversations".

Wilson Chandler stop working out for teams, because he expects to be chosen at #23 by the Knicks. Many find this to be a shocker if it happens.

Daequan Cook plans to sign a representation agreement with Mike Conley SR immediately. Cook is confident he’ll be selected in the first round.

Mike Conley Jr has said his style of play is similar to Tony Parker right now.

Nick Young will be one of the 15 players invited to shake the David Sterns hand on draft night. His agent said "it’s a great sign". Normally a player is selected on either great talent or strong workouts.

Hawk eyes, I can tell you are not a fan. Speedy was fresh off a championship with SA. Was SA stupid also to hire him to help them win a championship? Can you predict the future? Given the market and restriction with ownership, Knight has done an admirable job. As far as the Hawks picking guards, Spud Webb, Doc Rivers and Mookie Blaylock would disagree with you. .
