Lances NBA Rookie Rankings

Here is my list of 15 players, that I think could be candidates for rookie of the year for the 2007-08 NBA season.

1. Kevin Durant- It looks like Seattle has enough confidence in Kevin to lead this franchise as the go to guy right away. He could very well post nice numbers his rookie year, maybe about 18 points and 7 rebounds a game.

2. Greg Oden- He may have been the number one pick in the draft, but he’s number two on this list. Greg will have a great supporting cast around him, so he won’t have a lot of load to carry. I do feel he’ll be a great defensive presence, getting like 9 rebounds and 2 blocked shots a game.

3. Mike Conley Jr- He could very well be the starting PG in Memphis instantly. I believe he’ll lead all rookies in assist and steals.

4. Al Horford- Al may very well move ahead of Shelden Williams on the depth chart. I believe he’ll be a great defensive presence in their front court. He may even get quite a few double-doubles during the season.

5. Jeff Green- Maybe a starter along side of Kevin Durant , he should post decent numbers whether he starts or comes off the bench. He could have numbers like 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assist a game.

6. Corey Brewer- Will be one of the best rookie defensive players, and he should have decent all-around stats regardless if he starts or comes off the bench.

7. Acie Law-
Even if he doesn’t start, he’ll get major minutes. I believe he’ll take advantage of open shots when teams try to shut down Joe Johnson. He could get solid stats, maybe in the area of 9 points and 4 assist a game.

8. Morris Almond- One of the most NBA ready rookies. He will become a regular in the Jazz rotation, and should post up nice all-around stats.

9. Rodney Stuckey- Could very well be the top guard to come off the pistons bench immediately. I think he’ll make his presence known on offense and defense. He could put up numbers like 8 points, 3 assist, and 2 steals a game.

10. Julian Wright- He could see major minutes. He’ll bring a good all-around game most nights. He’ll have plenty of defensive stops, and may even shock some with some solid offensive games.

11. Glen Davis- With the lack of front court players on the Celtics, Glen could be an immediate presence with his size. He should see some quality playing time and he may even post decent stats off the bench.

12. Joakim Noah- Joakim could be apart of the Bulls rotation right away. He’ll give them alot of energy and passion. He’ll get some rebounds, block some shots, and may set a few screens for the guards.

13. Sean Williams- If Sean can keep his focus purely on basketball, he has a legit shot to be a major contributor in the Nets lineup, even if Lawrence Frank isn’t HIGH on rookies ( get it LOL!). Anyway Sean can be a great defensive presence and may even get a lot of put back shot opportunities like Mikki Moore did. He could have numbers like 6 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 blocks a game.

14. Daequan Cook- He is another rookie that could see some major playing time off the bench. He’ll take advantage of his scoring opportunities and make his presence known on the court.

15. Jason Smith- Could see some quality playing time in Philly. He gives them a versatile big man, who can post decent all-around stats. I believe he’ll take advantage of the opportunities that he’ll see on the court.

This list looks so stupid that it does not even include Yi Jianlian, who is most technically sound players among all those, and, by the way, he will have a bright bright future in NBA. .

I think Durant is will win the scoring for da Rookies but ODEN will win da ROY beucase he will get more rebounds and block than Durant, so balance will win it all .

Danny Ainge said he’ll most likely keep Big Baby on the roster and give him every opportunity to prove himeself, because he’s worth the risk, when he’s playing well. I believe G-Davis has a great shot at not only making the Celtics but being a top rookie next season. I think this is a pretty good list. .

Boston is saying big baby might not even make the roster. I like him, but i don’t care how much weight he lost this summer, he’s nowhere near NBA condition, and will see very few minutes. ROY is Durant’s to lose. Anyone who beats him will have to get big minutes and already have polished offense. My candidates are as follows\1urant_Conley_Horford_Law IV_Almond (darkhorse with D-Fish leaving). AND, based on impact, Sean Williams will do more than all of them. This is a really good guy, i have many friends that know him. He’s all cleaned up now that he’s got his dream in front of him, and he will help us in a major way as we go to the NBA finals this year.yeah NETS! .

Yea, I love the correlation between blowing some smoke and killing your driver. That makes tons of sense. I smoked in my youth as did every other college student I knew. It is crazy to make the relationship with Williams. .

If Lawrence Frank will give Sean WIlliams the minutes, he can be in the top 10 among the rookies. He can give what the Nets is lacking. .

Sean Williams is gonna become a beast defensively for the Nets. He’s gonna surprise some people with his athleticism. .

Random Thinker, you really are a random thinker. Who has bigger caracter issues, Sean Williams or your Women? Yeah, you probably know who I am since I say that .

I say it’s between Kevin Durant or Corey Brewer. The way they play and the teams that they’re on allow them to have good shots. .

Rookie of the year is going to one of the Buckeyes. Either Greg Oden, Mike Conley Jr. Even Daequan Cook has a good chance to snatch it up. .

I think Acie Law has a legit shot at getting rookie of the year. .

I’m going on record right now and saying it. The darkhouse winner for rookie of the year will be Glen Davis. His big butt is gonna ball real well in his rookie season, he’s hungry on and off the court. .

This is a pretty good list, I like the rankings. I think ROY will be between Durant and Horford. Sorry Greg Oden! .

Sean WIliams will be like a former net Jayson WIlliams on and off the court. So you can take it how you want I guess. I’ll say he’ll be solid on the court for a little while. Than wind up in the news for some negative incident. It seems like players with the last name Williams bring negative attention in the NBA. .
