Nick Fazekas Breakdown

Nick Fazekas is 6’11, 240 pounds and has a high basketball IQ, and is also very sound fundamentally.

He is a great free throw shooter, has a nice shooting touch, is a good finisher, and moves well without the ball. He has good footwork, is capable of drawing fouls, and he is a good passer. He boxes out real well, and has a nice mid range shot up to 18 feet, and can also hit three pointers consistently. He doesn’t foul much and plays tough defense. He likes to keep the ball high instead of putting it on the floor. Nick has good hands and does a good job of creating shots for himself. He has a long wingspan and a high release shot that is hard to block. Nick is a good rebounder and shot blocker.

He doesn’t like a lot of physical contact, he’s not very athletic, and doesn’t leap high, nor does he have a lot of quickness. He still needs to work on his back to the basket game, and he’s foul prone when he plays against athletic big men. He needs to add upper body strength, and learn how to keep good position down low.

Overall Nice has skills, but needs to become a better big man to stay on an NBA floor. Not playing in pre-draft camp is an odd choice, because many executives wanted to see his skills against others in the draft to get a solid evaluation. His stock isn’t very high so for now he’ll continue to be a late first rounder to a mid second round selection.

He could be steal, but then again I’m not so sure he’ll fit in Dallas and their style of play. They would’ve been better off taking Josh McRoberts. .

I have never sen him play. But on Lances 2007 prospect comparsions he has him like a Christian Laettner, which means he should be pretty solid. .

This draft is so deep. But yet and still he might be on of those sleepers who explode with the right team. maybe Houston. .
