Part Four International Prospects Report

Here is part four, of players seven and eight on my top ten international prospects 20 and under.

7. Vladimir Dasic: Is 6’9, 225 pounds,19 years old, and is from Serbia.

He has a solid perimeter shot, and can hit the three point shot. He is good at coming off the screen, and hitting jumpers off the dribble. He has good strength, length, and quickness. He likes to shoot the jump hook and turnaround jump shots. He is athletic, versatile, and has good leaping abilities. He likes to go to the basket, and he is a good slasher. He has a quick first step, and is good with both hands. He has a good basketball IQ, and he is a very solid defender on the perimeter.

Vladimir can be an inconsistent shooter, he needs to improve his free throw shooting, and he doesn’t consistently show moves in the post. His body seems to be suited more for the SF position than the PF. His ball handling is decent, but his passing skills need work. He is still learning how to put his skills together to become a complete consistent player, with an inside-outside game. He has similarities with Vladimir Radmanovic.

8. Ante Tomic: Is 7’2, 220 pounds, 20 years old, and is from Dubrovnik, Croatia.

He has very quick feet, has good footwork in the post, and he runs the floor well. He has good passing skills and likes to dish his teammates the ball. He has good hands and can catch anything thrown his way. He is a good decision maker, and understands the game of basketball real well. He has a solid jump shot, but doesn’t score a lot of points all the time. He has many polished moves in the post. He likes to shoot the hook shot with either hand.

Ante struggles sometime to gain position down low. He can easily get overpowered by stronger players and out hustled by more athletic ones. He is a very inconsistent rebounder, and he can struggle to get his shot off. He is not a very good shot blocker and he doesn’t have good leaping abilities. He needs to add more weight and strength. Overall Ante is still developing and has a ways to go before being a solid contributer in the NBA, he could be a project, but he showes flashes of being an effective player. As of right now I would say he is a Jeff Foster type player until he shows more development.

Both these players are role players 9th and 10th men off the bench at best, to me. Hopefully they pan out .

Ante Tomic is a super huge project. I don’t why so many people hype him up as a mid to late first round pick? .

I have watched Ante Tomic and he is really overrated to me, there is notheing special to his game. If he makes to the nba he’ll be just a solid role player at best .

Like Carter Fox said, it’s crazy that some analyst actually are that high on Ante Tomic, when hasn’t even really done anything yet. I probably woul dhave thrown him at #10 on my list, because I really just don’t like his game .

When Vladimir is at the top of his game, he is a very good player. Hopefully he’ll be more consistent than Radmanovic when he gets to the nba .

I sound like they could be two solid role players in the nba. I think they’re probably mid second round picks when they declare for the draft .

Vladimir Dasic is a very underrated player to me when he is at his best. I feel the same way about Vladimir Radmanovic .

I think Dasic and Tomic have good chances at being late first round picks in next years draft .

I have noticed alot of analyst are pretty high on Ante Tomic, I’ve actually heard comparsions to Pau Gasol. I just don’t see what makes him so special. I seen him play once and he is average at best. I’m glad you have some sense Lance to not overhype him. A Jeff Foster comparsion is good for now until this kid proves he’s alot better .
