Here is part two of 10 more small school players that I think have legit shots to reach the NBA. There is a chance that you’ll hear some their names in the future.
Part one is located here.
11. Nick Aldridge: Will be a sophomore at Western Carolina. He is 6’7, 230 pounds and averaged 18.3 points and 7 rebounds a game. He had verbally committed to the University of Cincinnati, but decided not to go. Nick is a very good scorer and he likes to be the go to guy. He is capable of being a double-double player. Defensively he could still use some work. He may still grow some more and could be a future PF, he is already pretty physical. Overall he is a very good basketball player, he has the potential to be like Linas Kleiza.
12. Antonie Agudio: Will be a senior at Hofstra. He is 6’3, 185 pounds and averaged 20.2 points and 4 assist a game. He continues to improve each season. He is a great shooter up to 15 ft, and also has consistent range on his three point shot. He has nice moves and is good at creating his own shot. He has solid ball handling skills with both hands. He needs to work on his PG skills. He could make a solid combo guard as a pro. If he doesn’t make it in the NBA, he should have a nice career in Europe, his style fits real well there. He reminds me of Daniel Gibson.
13. Roy Bright: Will be a senior at Delaware State. He is 6’6, 211 pounds and averaged 15.5 points and 3.7 rebounds a game. He has good body strength for a person his size. He has a lot of quickness. He has good range on his three point shot. He is a hard worker and is willing to do the little things on the court. His perimeter shot could use some work. He has solid moves offensively. Some observers wonder can he be effective against stronger competition. He’ll most likely be an overseas player if he doesn’t stand out next year. He has a lot of similarities with Damien Wilkins.
14. Jarvis Bardley: Will be a junior at McNeese State. He is 6’6, 205 pounds and averaged 15.1 points and 7.3 rebounds a game. Jarvis can play three different positions. He is strong offensively and can score in the paint. He is a good rebounder and has great leaping abilities. Jarvis is a smart player and is a good decision maker. He is becoming a better defender and shot blocker. Although he is versatile and has quality skills, he still may find it hard to get drafted. He sort of plays like Dorell Wright.
15. Anthony Fisher: Will be a senior at Tennessee Tech. He is 6’2, 180 pounds and averaged 17.2 points and 3.8 rebounds a game. Anthony is a playmaker that you can count on to be the go to scorer. He has a high basketball IQ with great instincts. He sets up teammates well, and finds opportunities for him or them to score. He has a good work ethnic and is always trying to improve. Anthony is improving defensively and has become real competitive. He most likely won’t get drafted, but I’m sure he’ll get many invites to summer league teams and training camps. He has similarities with Keith McLeod.
16. Sean Barnette: Will be a junior at Wingate University. He is 6’4, 220 pounds and averaged 21.6 points and 7.6 rebounds a game. Sean is a very talented swingman who is a good scorer and rebounder. Sean is also a solid defender, and can shoot consistently from many spots on the court. He is a capable of getting to the free throw line a lot and makes most of his free throws. Former Wingate Bulldog Junior Harrington has managed to stay in the league, and Sean is a better player, so there is no reason Sean can’t get drafted ore sign on as a free agent. He has similarities with James Posey.
17. Nick Smith: Will be a senior at Stonehill College. He is 6’7, 230 pounds and averaged 17.5 points and 6.1 rebounds a game. Nick is a good scorer, rebounder and free throw shooter. He is a smart player and a solid defender. Nick shoots the ball pretty well on the perimeter and very is consistent from the three point line. He steps up when his team needs him. Nick could be a star player overseas and a nice role player in the NBA. Being a D2 player and not having eye opening stats, Nick will have to work hard to impress scouts so more. He has similarities with Hedo Turkoglu.
18. Ben Woodside: Will be a junior at North Dakota State. He is 5’11, 188 pounds and averaged 16.4 points, 3 rebounds, and 3.4 assist a game. Ben is a good shooter and scorer. He has good ball handling skills and nice passing abilities. Ben plays pretty good defense and has solid all around game. He should be the go to player next year since last years go to guy Andre Smith graduated and just signed a contract in Germany. I think Ben would thrive in an overseas league first, before he contributes in the NBA. If he reaches the NBA at best he could be like Steve Blake, or at worst Gerry McNamara.
19. Kai Williams: Will be a sophomore at South Dakota State. He is 6’6, 210 pounds and averaged 12 points and 6.5 rebounds a game. He is a talented forward from Canada, and he helped team Canada to the bronze medal in 2005 summer games by posting up 28 points, 11.3 rebounds and 4.3 assist a game. In his first college season he was 50% from the perimeter and 33% from the three point line. He is a consistent scorer and rebounder, and he can give quality assist and blocked shots as well. He is capable of many double-doubles throughout the season. He is still young and I believe he’ll dominate in the D2 level these next few years, and make a name for himself to get noticed by scouts. He has similarities with Von Wafer.
20. Anthony Pettaway: Will be a junior at Defiance College. He is 6’8, 250 pounds and averaged 16.3 points and 7.4 rebounds a game. Anthony is a beast in the paint. He is very active and aggressive, he runs the floor well for his size, and he has great leaping skills. He is from my hometown and I have played against him a few times. It may be a long shot for him to get drafted playing D3 ball, but I think he has a chance to get noticed by scouts with the physical tools he has. He is definitely a double-double threat and his upside is great. If he isn’t drafted, I think he can make it as an undraftee, his Jason Maxiell like playing style will attract some teams.
