Patrick Patterson Profile

Patrick Patterson is 6’8, 230 pounds and will be a freshman at Kentucky. He has great leaping abilities, and can throw down some massive dunks.

He has great body strength and will give anyone a tough battle down low. He can finish around thhe basket with both hands, and he is good at drawing fouls. He has a 7’2 wingspan, he is a good rebounder and shot blocker. He has quick foot speed and is very athletic. He is known as a good teammate, who is willing to give up the ball when needed. He has very good and quick hands. He has a solid short-range jump shot. Patrick needs to work on expanding his jumper at least out to 15 feet, his shooting can be predictable at times.

Although his dribbling and ball handling skills are ok, I’m sure he can become even better if he works at it. Some scouts wonder what position would be best for him if he is done growing, I think he has the ability to play both forward spots at anytime. Overall Patrick is a good player, with a lot of upside. I enjoy watching him play, and he should make an immediate impact at Kentucky. I see similarities between him and Danny Granger.

I agree with Marquel. The SF position in college is starting to produce some bigger, stronger, and athletic guys, that can do a lot of damage to teams, if they can’t shut them down. It’s gonna be fun watching Patrick dunk all over these dudes in college. He will really be a threat once he can hit deeper jump shots consistently .

Like Bill Walker, Patterson was overshadowed by O.J. Mayo. He was the Scottie Pippen of the team. But now in these next few years we’re gonna see if Patrick can more of a load and help carry his team to the promise land. I’m pulling for him .

That SF position has some big athletic boys, that are gonna be hard to guard. People like Patterson, and Bill Walker, are going to be Ron Artest type players. Just beast that you really have to plan for to figure out how to contain them .

Patrick is probably the most underrated player of the freshman cla-------in my opinion. He is gonna turn out more successful than most of the other top prospects .
