The RBK U camp formerly known as the ABCD camp, started yesterday in Philadelphia. The RBK U has teams that are named after NBA players who have deals with Reebok. Some of the top high school players are participating in this tournament. Here is a recap of how day one went for 5 players.
Renard Sidney: One of the top prospects for the 2009 class, scored 26 points on 11-18 shooting. He had 10 rebounds for Team Iverson. At 6’9, 245 pounds Renard has great inside-outside game, and it showed in game one. He was explosive and exciting to watch. In game two he had a 20 point performance and he seemed to play with less passion this time around.
Brandon Jennings: After playing a below average game one, Brandon followed game two playing like he usually does. He scored 21 points, he hit three point shots, went to the basket, and drew fouls. He showed off his court vision and passing abilities, along with his awesome dunking skills for a 6’1, 170 pound PG.
Malcolm Lee: Struggled in game one shooting 5-19 and scoring just 13 points and 1-8 from the three point line. In game two he shot the ball well scoring 20 points on 8-12 shooting, and knocking down some nice three point shots. The 6’5 PG who has drawn comparisons to Javaris Crittenton, struggled to run the point for Team Crawford, turning the ball over 4 times and having just 3 assist.
William Buford: Didn’t shoot that well in game one, he was 6-16 and scoring just 14 points. He was very active on the court running off screens like Rip Hamilton. In game two William looked like his normal self scoring 23 points and 3 of 6 from the three point line. He was a tough player to tough for Team Yao. My hometown guy continues to show that he could be the next SG to play at Ohio State starting in 2009. He could follow the path of Jimmy Jackson, Michael Redd, or Daequan Cook.
Andrew Randell: The 6’7 reserve led Team Livingston with 19 points and 8 rebounds, shooting 8-11 from the field and 3 of 5 from the three point line. He played with a lot of energy and was impressive in 16 minutes of time. He did a little bit of everything, and he seem to feed of the hometown crowd. In game two Andrew scored 15 points on 7-11 shooting and he had 4 assist, to help led his team to a 15 point victory. He made a name for himself with is day one performances, and it could boost the swingmans recruiting status.
