The Reverse Draft

The Reverse Draft

Some buddies and I were talking about sports yesterday, and the topic came up about what NFL players would make solid NBA players. So I thought about all the NFL players I saw play basketball at a serious competitive level, and I decided that if I was to draft NFL players for my basketball team, this is who I would go with. Yes I know it looks like an odd team, but I think we could win a game or two. I also thought about what NBA players I would draft for my NFL team. Now I haven’t seen many of them play football, so I have no idea how they play or how well this team would do, but they might beable to hold their own.

(NFL Hoops Squad)

PG- Ronald Curry
SG- Randy Moss

SF- Antonio Gates

PF- Tony Gonzalez

C- Julius Peppers

PG- Adrian McPherson

SG- Terrell Owens

SF- Marcus Pollard

PF- David Bowens

(NBA Football Squad)

QB- Allen Iverson

RB- Marcus Banks

FB- Brian Cardinal

WR- Richard Jefferson

TE- Craig Smith

LT- Shaquille O’Neal

C- Sean May
RG- Etan Thomas

Personally for me I’m always up for watching something different and interesting, and I think seeing these guys switch up leagues for a week would catch my attention. But what about you, would you watch pro players switch it up? And if so, name a few players that you would like to see.

I think some nba players would make solid nfl players, like Ruben Patterson-LB, Al Horford-LB, Shaq-DT, Glen Davis-DT, Ben Wallace-DE, Deron Williams-QB, Chris Paul-RB, Vince Carter-WR, Kobe Bryant-WR, Mark Madsen-FB, Chauncey Billups-DB, Raja Bell-DB, Andrew Bynum-OL, Chris Kaman-OL, LeBron James-TE, Leandro Barbosa-KR, Allen Iverson-PR, Chris Wilcox-TE, Elton Brand-DT, Dwyane Wade-FS, Chris Bosh-WR, Steve Nash-K, Jason Kidd-QB, Chuck Hayes-LB, Joey Graham-S. These are some players I could picture having some contibutions in the NFL, I definitely wouldn’t mind them on my team .

This would be fun to see. I think the most funny thing would be when a player gets hit too hard and he starts crying foul. Here’s my dream team: qb- Steve Nash qb- Sam Cassell, rb- Leandro Barbosa rb- Ben Gordon fb- Ronny Turiaf, wr- Vince Carter, wr- Kobe Bryant,wr- Chris Bosh, wr- Gerald Wallace, te- Tim Duncan, te- Rasheed Wallace, lt- Chris Kaman, lg- Sean May, c- Andrew Bynum, rg- Elton Brand rt- Glen Davis, de- Ben Wallace, de- Etan Thomas, dt- Shaq, dt- Dwight Howard, olb- LeBron James, mlb- Ron Artest, ilb- Udonis Haslem, cb- Bruce Bowen, cb- Gilbert Arenas, fs- Dwyane Wade, ss- Raja Bell, kr- Tracy McGrady, pr-Allen Iverson, k- Robert Horry, p- Dirk Nowitzki, cheerleader- Dennis Rodman lol!, and I think the perfect coach for a hoops football team would be George Karl. .

T.O can actually ball, I watched him as well as Julius Peppers, Tony G, and Antonio Gates. I bet NFL players would make better hoopers than NBA players trying to play the manly sport of football. But I would love to see them try. I think it would be superbowl type ratings. I can picture Chauncey being a shutdown corner like Deion, or Corey Maggette hittin people hard like Sean Taylor did. I can picture Ron Artest being like Ray Lewis. Or Jason Kidd trying to be like Brent Favre. I can definitely see Kobe being like Keyshawn Johnson saying give me the damn ball! B-diddy reminds me of Barry Sanders although I do’t see him doing anything close to his moves. I would find it funny seeing Shaq as my RB, but it would get boring watching him after awhile, so then I would thrown in Leandro Barbosa with his lighting quick speed. I could go on and on about who I’d like to watch. But for me this would be great entertainment for sure! .

the squad that I would put together would be hilarious. I would put Shaq at RB just to see how many dudes it would take to tackle his big azz. I would have Earl Boykins be his full back, just to see his lil azz get ran over and steeped on. Kobe Bryant would be my QB, I bet he would still never pa-------the ball lol! I’m sure the many touchdown celebration would be a dunk contest at the goal post, seeing who can do the best move. I would have Yao be my TE, and I would love KG and Greg Oden be my WR’s and come across the middle getting smacked by Carlos Boozer and Chris Wilcox at LB. DWade and Agent 0 would be my corners. Tayshuan Prince would be my FS, and my SS would Paul Pierce. Those are some of the players that I would draft on my team .

The best part about Shaq playing football, is I won’t have to see him shoot anymore bad free throws lol! But I won’t definetly love to watch nba players switch up just for some entertainment, it should be a reality tv show. I could picture A.I being a lil mini Michael Vick, Or LeBron being an Antonio Gates type player. It would be funny trying to see Tony Parker or Nate Robinson try to tackle someone. I would definitely love to see the WR’s make some spectacular catches with their leaping abilities. But I think the greatest part of all is seing what these dudes would do for touchdown celebrations. ESPN make this happen! .
