Lance’s 2009 Draft Board

  By Lance Walton
06.13.2008 - Updated on 06.13.2008

Here is a list of sixty players that have a good chance of being drafted in 2009. Some players I’ve listed have declared for the draft this year but haven’t made it official, and it’s likely they’ll return to school. If there is a player you think could be drafted in 2009 that’s not on here, feel free to share it in the comment box.

I swear some of you guys a dumb. Look at the date when it was wriiten. At the time Joe Alexander stock was just decent, he didn’t get hot until the late part of the season that’s why made im the highest riser. Chase Budinger back then was projected to go in, and he didn’t decide until the last day to opt out. And I’m not gonna even comment on some of the other things. Please read before you type people, my God! .

Austin Johnson 6’3" Sr. PG at the Univ. of Oklahoma has the potential to be a draftee if he stays healthy this season. He has improved each year that he has been there. With a breakout senior season it is possible for him to play in the league. Austin posess the intelligence of the game plus is able to strech the defense with his NBA range 3 pt shooting and is a capable defender with an explosive vertical jump to match. .

Al Horford the next Karl Malone? Yeah right, he is a very good player, but that’s wild to say he’ll be on the same level as the Mailman. Also look out for Kenny George he could be a steal in the draft next year, some say he’ll be no better than Gheorghe Muresan, but they’re wrong. At 7’7" and 360 lbs, he’ll give Yao a run for his money. .

Patrick Ewing Jr, was a senior this season. He has been working out with NBA teams, but he’ll be an undraftee, or we’ll have to work his way up from the NBDL, or overseas. Ironically he has a good chance to get signed to the Magic, where is dad is currently the big man coach. .
