More NBA Draft Updates

05.29.2008 - Updated on 08.1.2008

Here are more NBA draft updates that are being talked about at the moment.

- The 11 players projected to be guaranteed lottery picks in this year’s draft are: D.J. Augustin, Jerryd Bayless, Kevin Love, Michael Beasley, Eric Gordon, Brook Lopez, Anthony Randolph, Derrick Rose, O.J. Mayo, Danilo Gallinari, DeAndre Jordan.

- One prospect who is on the rise impressing many NBA personnel members is point guard Lester Hudson. He is very athletic, has great shooting abilities, and is a very good creative scorer.

- Many scouts feel the biggest draft sleeper from college is Jason Thompson, who is projected to be picked between 16 and 30. Scouts feel the biggest international sleeper is Omri Casspi, who is projected as a late first-round or early second-round selection.

- Many have specualted, including myself, that Mike D’Antoni had serious interest in Danilo Gallinari, because he fits well in D’Antoni’s system, and the fact that D’Antoni and Danilo’s dad played together meant he knew what Danilo was capable of. But a person in the Suns organization said when D’Antoni watched tape of Danilo play, he wasn’t impressed and is not sure if he has what it takes to be an effective NBA player.

- Steve Kerr and the Suns are very interested in 3 players: Brandon Rush, JaVale McGee, and D.J. Augustin. They said they will bring in 20 players to workout, but those 3 are the front-runners.

- Tiago Splitter, who was the San Antonio Spurs’ first-round pick in last year’s draft, won’t be joining the Spurs anytime soon. He wants to re-sign with ACB powerhouse Tau Ceramica.

- Sources say the Houston Rockets are interested in 7’2’’ Sudanese Center John Riek, who is fresh out of prep school. They feel he could be mentored by Dikembe Mutombo and eventually take his spot to back up Yao Ming.

Lance, you are basically stealing news that legit reporters are reporting and saying it as if it’s your own info, without crediting the legit reporters whose info it is .

Lance, why do you pretend to know anything about the draft? You just read what other sites report and summarize it in your own words .

Mr. Right is probably some 11 year old kid who thinks he knows hoops, but anyway. If I was the knicks I would chose Jerryd Bayless. He would be the perfect fit for Mike D’Antoni. Him and Nate Robinson as the teams point guards could work. I’m gald Donnie Walsh is running the show and not dumb Thomas anymore .

That is funny how, a person who calls themself Mr. Right, but they have no common sense to know that; that was just a list and not and actual projected order. Lance just did a mock draft and it was one of the best I’ve seen so far. Also I agree with scouts that Omri Casspi is the international sleeper .

I think Mr. Right has it all wrong. He just listed the players that are projected to be the lottery picks, that’s not the order he actually has them in, duh! .

dude, you Lance guy, you are stupid! The bulls are gonna trade one of their guards to make room for Derrick Rose, so that position will not be overfilled. Then Miami will get Michael Beasley and O.J. Mayo will go to the Timberwolves. you got to be stupid if you think DJ Agustin and Kevin Love will go before Beasly. That was one of the most idiotic predictions I have ever heard of....idiot .

Suns should take DeAndre Jordan if he is still available or Russell Westbrook .

John Riek needs to go to college and development instead, he is a long ways away from being NBA ready .

I’m starting to hear Lester Hudson’s name more and more by scouts. Looking at his stats and seeing highlights of his games, he looks like the real deal, and a guaranteed steal. A team that needs a quality PG better take a serious look at him .

Suns, should hire Terry Porter as their head coach, then draft JaVale McGee or a point guard. They are old and thin at the Center and Point guard position. Alando Tucker is just like Brandon Rush, so he is not needed .

I guess Tiago Splitter figures he can make alot more money where he is now and be a star right now, rather than joining the dominate yet declining cheap Spurs .

I think D’antoni should take a better look at Danilo Gallinari. Not only will he be a pretty good NBA player, but he would thrive in D’Antoni’s 7 seconds or less offense .

If suns could get D.J. Augustin, that would be awesome, but they’ll probably have to trade up to do so. .
