A Look At DeVon Hardin

A Look At DeVon Hardin

DeVon Hardin is 6’11, 240 pounds and has great athleticism. He runs the floor well, and has a very long wingspan. DeVon has great leaping ability and likes to use it a lot inside the paint. He throws down explosive dunks similar to Dwight Howard. He has an NBA ready body with great strength, he is very quick, and very aggressive in the post. He is a good shot blocker, and an ok rebounder.

DeVon could use a lot of work, he needs to develop some post moves, a mid range shot, and work on his free throw shooting. A lot of times DeVon seems uninspired and not committed to giving his all on a consistent basis. He lacks decision making skills and shows flashes of improvement in his game, but still can be very inconsistent. He missed a lot of games due to injury, and wasn’t expected to stay in the draft, he just wanted to show of his physical tools and see what he needed to work on.

But now it is reported that he is staying in the draft and will hire an agent, because many teams like him enough to take him in the first round. I think it would be better for him to play another year in college, he may very well end up in the NBDL his first year. DeVon sort of reminds me of Chris Wilcox.

Good decision DeVon, I just heard you pulled your name out the draft and will be returning to Cal, because you want to be a lottery pick. I was about to crticize you for rushing it this year even with your stock rising, going back was the best choice! .

I agree he should of stayed at CAL another year. When you look at him play nothing really stands out but athleticism, but even then he’s not a real big difference maker with it on the court. He needs to develop some skills, going to the NBA now I see him struggling or being in the D-League. .

D-Hard only brings athleticism to his game, no fundamentals. He won’t get very far or be very effective in the NBA for long. He should’ve went back to school. I’m surprised teams wanna take him the first round. .
