Kosta Koufos Report

Kosta Koufos is 7’1, 255 pounds and will be a freshman at Ohio State. He has a 7’4 wingspan and he has developed some aggressiveness in his game.

He has solid post moves and he plays well around the basket. He has good hands and he does a good job passing from the post. He likes to put the ball on the floor and he also likes to keep constant movement on the floor. Kosta has a good mid range jumper and also a nice three point shot. He likes to shoot the turnaround jumper. He has developed into a leader and a go to player. He has good character and he is very smart. Kosta has good defensive skills, especially when it comes getting his position down low.

Kosta lacks foot speed and athleticism. He is not a very good shot blocker, and he needs to improve his rebounding skills. He still needs to learn to fight through contact. He needs to improve his finishing at the basket after contact. Kosta has said if he has a good freshman year, he would consider a jump to the NBA. I think he should be a two to four year college player, in order to develop into a solid NBA big man and reach his potential. He reminds me of Andrew Bogut.

I know the exact interview you’re talking about Tiffany you’re right he did state he would possibly consider it. He said " If I’m good enough, yeah I’d like to play in the NBA. It’s always been a dream. I’m going toplay my one year at Ohio State and see. If I don’t have a great year, I’ll stay and continue to work on my game and improve until I’m ready." .

Actually I do remember him saying he would seriously consider a jump to the nba if he felt he had a good enough first year at Ohio State. It was on one of those draft websites about a month in a half ago. I also live in the Canton area and he said it locally on one other occasion. I like Kosta and hope he does stay at Ohio State all four years. .

I hear is one of the top players in Ohio, and by looking at this profile, it sounds like he has some game. I’m sure I’ll get to see him play many times while he is at Ohio State, and when or if he makes it to the pros .

Kosta will be a top 5 big man during his time in college. I like his game, in the nba I think he could be like Andrew Bogut or maybe Memhet Okur .

I agree Kosta did look good over the summer, being the MVP in the U-18 European Championship averging 26 pts and 13 rbs a game, he also improved some of his weaknesses like blocking. The Buckeyes have alot of big men so they will have to do well to recieve most of the playing time, but he is clearly the best out of all of them. Go Kosta! .

I think he has a shot to come right in and become one of the best big men in college right away. .

I have heard his stock has been rising quickly with scouts and he is a potentially a lottery pick, if he has a good season. I think he will do a good job taking over for Greg Oden. .
